The body detoxification program is basically the answer to the modern lifestyle and all the pitfalls that lie behind it. A lot of stress, improper diet with a lot of animal products, improper fermentation processes in the large intestine, environmental pollution, too much or too little physical activity and negative emotions (anger, fear, jealousy, resentment, sadness…), insufficient sleep, exposure to chemical toxins ( drugs, vaccinations, environmental toxins, heavy metals affect the appearance of body acidification. However, if we want to be healthy, the body must be in a state of acid-base balance.

During acidification, there are disturbances in cell function and information exchange due to reduced electrical voltage of the cell membrane. All electrochemical processes in the body are directly dependent on the acid-base balance inside and outside the cell. In order for cells to function properly (the passage of necessary nutrients and oxygen and the elimination of waste), they need a slightly alkaline state. When the body becomes acidified, the aforementioned functions no longer function normally. All mineral substances and acids that are produced in the body during the metabolic process are carriers of acidic or basic electric charges inside and outside the cells. However, when the acid-base balance changes and the body becomes more acidic, the electrical voltage on the membrane and inside the cell also changes, causing cell and organ dysfunction (cell and intercellular acidification and deposition of acids outside the bloodstream). Excess acids cannot be eliminated via the liver, lungs and kidneys. As a result, symptoms of acidity may appear, such as: fatigue, exhaustion, poor concentration, sensitivity to stress, nervousness, bloating, indigestion and constipation, headache, reduced resistance, muscle and joint problems, changes in the skin, hair and nails and various diseases (autoimmune diseases, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, etc.). Body acidity is also a sign that the organism is overloaded with free radicals, which create oxidative stress and, as a result, the development of various diseases. The cause of cancer was discovered before 1923. The scientist Otto Heinrich Warburg won the Nobel Prize in 1931 for this discovery. dr. Warburg discovered that cancer is the result of an anti-physiological lifestyle (eating foods that acidify us) and physical inactivity, which creates an oxygen-poor environment. dr. Warburg said, “Oxygen deficiency and acidosis are two sides of the same coin: if one has one, one also has the other.” If we are oxygen deficient, we will be acidified, and if we are acidified, we will be oxygen deficient. dr. Warburg claimed that if a cell is deprived of just 35% of its oxygen, it can turn cancerous in just two days.
For this reason, it is very important to deacidify and in this way to regain good health and well-being.

WHAT DOES PH VALUE MEAN AND WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT?
Our body consists of 75% water, which is a biological medium for the transfer of nutrients, oxygen and biochemical substances through the bloodstream. This medium has either acidic or basic properties, which are measured by a scale called the pH factor. The acidity or basicity of a substance is measured using the pH scale, which extends from 0 to 14 as a logarithm, which means that each step is ten times greater than the previous one. On this scale, values ​​from 1 to 6.9 are in the acidic range, 7.0 is neutral, and 7.1 to 14.0 represents basicity. So, a lower pH value means higher acidity, and a higher pH value means higher basicity. Alkaline liquids (pH above 7) absorb oxygen, while acidic liquids want to eliminate it. A slightly alkaline liquid can absorb more than 100 times more oxygen than a slightly acidic liquid. The body’s optimal pH value is between 7.1 and 7.5. Studies have shown that the elderly can have a pH as low as 6.5, and some cancer patients have a pH of 4.5 and below, which is a distinctly acidic environment. Most newborns have a pH of 7.5. The body will do everything it can to maintain the pH of the blood between 7.35 and 7.45. It will use minerals from vital organs and tissues to maintain this value, including Ca and P.

Acids are essentially substances that emit hydrogen ions in aqueous solutions or protons (H+). Hydrogen ions bond with water molecules. Thus, hydrated hydrogen ions are formed, or oxonium ions (H3O+). The more oxonium ions in an aqueous solution, the more acidic the solution. The higher the acidity of the solutions, the lower the pH of the liquid. Bases are substances that accept hydrogen ions or protons (H+). Aqueous solutions of bases contain hydroxide ions (OH-). The more the basicity of the solutions increases, the higher the pH of the liquid. Hydrogen ions are constantly produced during metabolic processes in cells and change the acidity and basicity of the internal environment. The normal concentration of hydrogen ions in the internal environment of the organism (extracellular fluid) is 40 nmol/l, which corresponds to a pH value of 7.40.

HOW DO WE DETERMINE BODY ACIDITY LEVELS?
The easiest home test to check the acidity of the body is definitely to check the pH value of urine. We measure it with an indicator for measuring the pH value of urine (at least three days, it can be five), every time we go to the toilet. Tear off one piece of litmus paper and place it under a stream of urine for 1-2 seconds. Then we compare the changed color of the litmus paper with the attached color scale. The obtained values ​​are entered in the diagram (time of measurement and pH-value of urine). Individual measurement values ​​are connected in a curve. If the average values ​​are below 7 and if the curve is not similar to the one obtained for comparison, then we can conclude that we are acidified. However, if you happen to already be consuming basic minerals, you should stop using them at least three days before starting to measure the pH value of the urine, since the increased concentration of basic minerals also increases the pH value of the urine, which does not mean that the body is deacidified. Real pH values ​​are obtained only when we do not consume basic minerals for a while and do not take basic baths. Morning urine should be acidic, but not overly so. But if the pH value of the morning urine is high or basic, there is a possibility that our kidneys do not excrete acids in sufficient quantity. In this case, the health status of the kidneys should be checked.

We speak of strong acidity of the body when the average pH value of urine is below 6. If we have average pH values ​​of urine from 6 to 6.9, we are more easily acidified.
In the first case, we must consume at least 80% of basic foods, and in the case of mild acidity, at least 70%. To maintain the correct acid-base balance, the ratio between basic and acidic foods is 60:40 (in this case, at least 60% of basic foods should be consumed every day).

Regardless, the fact is that one should consume as many generally basic, organic foods as possible. These are mainly: fruits, vegetables and sprouts, as well as unprocessed grains (mainly millet, amaranth and quinoa, which do not make us acidic), legumes and a little nuts (mainly almonds) and seeds.

A wholesome plant-based diet with plenty of fresh foods, green leafy vegetables, and the aforementioned foods will help you maintain optimal health and deacidify more easily. Foods of animal origin (dairy products, meat, meat products, eggs and fish), sugar and, in general, heavily processed foods make us very acidic.
