There is still time

I replaced the gleam in my eyes with sand
I sold my face for the bricks
Its shade for five hundred squares
And bought some dogs to shorten my time

I live in this house now
To your golden house
I only open the door to those
Bringing me fresh eggs
And they take out the trash

It’s time to find out
Which is better: let me stay or go
It’s time to find out
What is right and what I must not
Now is the time to find out
To stay or go

Maybe someday I’ll tear down the fence
Maybe I’ll get out of here someday
A new face will move into the house
With new sparkling eyes
Only dogs remain the same

It’s time to find out
Which is better: let me stay or go
It’s time to find out
What is right and what I must not
But the cloudy sky will betray me

It’s time to find out
Which is better: let me stay or go
It’s time to find out
What is right and what I must not
But the cloudy sky will betray me

It’s time to find out
Which is better: let me stay or go
It’s time to find out
What is right and what I must not
But the cloudy sky will betray me
